Repost by PHYS ORG. Original article by Kyoto University. Click here to view the full news article. Summary: Perovskites have been heard in the context of solar cells so far. But now, perovskite is being used to reveal nonlinear optical properties which had only been observed in atomic gases before. Using perovskite, researchers from Kyoto University and Kurume Institute of Technology have discovered a scaling law for high-order harmonic generation in Ca2RuO4. “Uchida concludes that their "findings also provide a foundation for materials design to achieve more efficient nonlinear optical devices."” Read more to find out why this might be interesting!
